Nel 2005 l'evento si è svolto per la prima volta al Parc del Fòrum (ca) (“Forum Park”), dove l' anno precedente si è svolta la prima edizione del Forum Universale delle Culture.
Il 4 ° edizione ha attirato 40.000 visitatori, un centinaio di artisti esibiscono nello spazio di tre giorni su sei diverse fasi. Nel Maggio 2003, accoglie 70 gruppi e 24.000 spettatori. All'inizio, il Primavera Sound si tiene nel Poble Espanyol sulla montagna di Montjuïc. Dopo aver lavorato per il festival di Benicàssim, si rammaricano del suo gigantismo e desiderano allestire un evento dalle dimensioni più umane. Il festival Primavera Sound è stato creato nel 2001 da Alberto Guijarro, Gabi Ruiz e Pablo Soler.
